The Course
The Race to the Taste is a 3.1 mile road and trail race through scenic Anastastia State Park. The race finishes in the newly renovated St. Augustine Amphitheatre.
The start line is near the entrance to Anastasia State Park. Runners will enter the park and remain on the road for the first mile. The first water station will be placed in this area.
The second mile gives more of a challenge, including a portion of ancient dune trail. This part of the course is cross country style and single width. You will be totally "off road" during this part of the race.
When you come off the trail, there will be a second water station, and one more loop through a camp ground section of the park.
The final trail is much wider, and the sand is a bit softer here. You should start hearing music from the Amphitheatre stage during this section! This trail ends just outside the entrance to the Amphitheatre along the back of the parking lot. You will race into the Amphitheatre and finish during A Taste of St. Augustine.
Walkers are welcome to participate!
Due to the uneven nature of the trails, jogging strollers are not recommended for this race.
